Town hall surroundings Buch am Erlbach

A new civic hall was built in the center of Buch am Erlbach between Rathausplatz and Kugelpoint street
.
The town hall, located in the second row of buildings, whose outdoor facilities were characterized by asphalted traffic areas, was moved to the front row in terms of urban planning as part of an ensemble by bringing it together with the community centre and traditional inn with its maypole location. The formal unification of the individual buildings through clear lines of sight and uniform surfacing improves the perception and thus permanently strengthens the presence of the town hall in the town center.

The widening of the sidewalks along the main street also contributes to this.

Some of the car parking spaces were moved to the rear of the town hall and were also identified as a subordinate commercial area through a different choice of surfacing. The slightly redirected development enables a car-free area with seating, enhanced green spaces and a fountain on the connecting open space.

The inner courtyard serves as an open space for both the restaurant and the civic hall. The shared access from Kugelpoint street emphasizes this interlinked use and enables community events such as the Christmas market to be held in a larger area.

Uniform colors and furnishings as well as a low-maintenance, yet flower-rich planting plan result in a distinctive, unifying appearance for the town hall environment.

Barrier-free accessibility to the buildings was important. Starting with an orientation field, tactile guidance systems lead to the square and show the way to the town hall and civic hall entrances. The entrances to the civic hall are accessible without stairs or via 6% ramps.

At the steeper ramp at the entrance to the town hall, help can be called via a bell and intercom system.

In the first construction phase, the three additional diagonal parking spaces were created at the rear of the town hall to free up the courtyard for further work.

Once the work on the Bürgersaal was completed, the remaining construction work was carried out. This meant that the guest garden in the inner courtyard could already be used for the 2020 beer garden season.
