Goetheallee park and playground

The public 7,400 sqm Goetheallee park is characterized by large lawns and a distinctive stock of mature trees. These characteristics will be fundamentally retained in the new design.

Further design aspects of the green space are the result of various ideas workshops with potential user groups with regard to different focal points. On the one hand, spacious lawns with rest areas, seating and flowering aspects will be created, while on the other, play and exercise areas for all ages will be created. These include a fenced-in playground for small children with climbing, swinging and water play facilities as well as an exercise area for older age groups with a basketball court, table tennis and a calisthenics facility. The newly designed football pitch of the adjacent grammar school will also be integrated into this sports and exercise area.

By thinning out the existing woodland planting, the green space will be opened up more to the outside and thus improve visual connections to the surrounding urban space. The inner development of the park is provided by water-bound park paths and the new cycle path connection made of polished natural stone paving.
