Schoolyard Paul-Gerhardt-School, Dassel

For the extension of the Paul-Gerhardt-School in Dassel, which has been awarded several times as an environmental school, schöne aussichten landschaftsarchitektur designed adequate open spaces. Ecology and sustainability were the most important aspects of the design process. The resulting outdoor facilities are characterized by their diverse uses. They are not only used by the students as a playground and recreation area during breaks, but also as an open-air classroom during regular lessons.
The heart of the facility is a multifunctional sports field made of EPDM, around which other playground and recreation areas are grouped. The design blends harmoniously into the surrounding landscape, thanks in no small part to the preservation of old existing trees, under which seating and lounging furniture create a quality of stay.
