Pedestrian and cycle path connection between Lahnstraße and Furthstraße

Our office is responsible for the planning of the new pedestrian and cycle path connection on the banks of the river Lahn for the university town of Marburg. The path is part of an overall measure to redesign the banks of the Lahn. The 1st BA includes the work of an approx. 120 meter long section.
The path is of asphalt construction, which is strewn with colour and bordered on the bank side by coloured concrete blocks. Portions under the Elizabeth Bridge and plaza areas north of the bridge are constructed in natural stone pavers.
Seating elements made of precast concrete increase the quality of stay. An element consists of three individual segments. The first has a radially rising surface, so that in flood situations the run-off of floating debris is made possible.
In the transition to the Lahn, a seating step is created, over which the water can be reached directly.
An underfloor transformer station was planned and constructed as an engineering structure in the flood area.

Flood protection wall DVAG

In the context of the overall measure for the redesign of the Lahn riverbank and newly constructed building structures of Deutsche Vermögensberatung AG (DVAG), a new flood protection wall including a ramp facility was created north of the Elisabeth Bridge. To this the bank way connects.
Our planning contains the following measures:
1.Verblendmauerwerk with natural stone plates on the lahnseitigen wall on a length of approx. 190m with straight and curved segments.
2.Fastened surfaces with natural stone paving in hydraulically bound building method on the ramp in the flood protection wall with a gradient of approx. 7% without cross gradient.
3.Railing design as fall protection according to guideline drawing gel bridge construction railing, total length approx. 200m.

Promenade between Elisabeth Bridge / Lahnstraße, barrier-free access to the Lahnuferweg

The 3rd construction phase between Elisabeth Bridge and Lahnstraße includes the construction of a promenade, a barrier-free ramp to the Lahnuferweg and the redesign of the embankment area. The construction area is located in the flood area of the Lahn.
Flood protection is ensured by means of two in-situ reinforced concrete retaining walls. The protective walls are faced with natural stone slabs and railings are inserted as fall protection over a length of 70m. The lighting consisting of special components, selected equipment elements and small-crowned trees fit harmoniously into the overall picture.
