The office EGL - Development and Design of Landscape - was founded in 1969 in Kassel by Professor Günther Grzimek, Arnim Koch and Jan Michael Runge with the aim of a socially and professionally innovative form of work. The office structure was organized as a limited liability company with employee participation. In addition to the office in Kassel, networked regional offices were established, in 1978 in Hamburg, 1980 in Landshut, 1993 in Lüneburg, 1995 in Leipzig, 2000 in Erlangen, 2001 in Düsseldorf and 2017 in Brandenburg.
The connection of a modern participatory work constitution with the functional, ecological, social and aesthetic requirements are the basis of the planning understanding of the planners, landscape architects and engineers working together in EGL
