With a total area of 3.5 hectares and many differentiated school and care facility buildings, which are to be demolished, renovated or newly constructed at various times during ongoing operations, the Unterhaching support centre posed a challenging task for the design.
The outdoor facilities of the support centre are to fit into the urban context as a 'large whole', but the individual areas assigned to the buildings are designed individually and their functionality is tailored to the needs of the respective users. The open-air facilities promote the children's motor and conditional skills through generous movement areas and versatile climbing and balancing play equipment. In part, existing playground equipment on the existing site can be retained or reused elsewhere.
The entire site is planned to be barrier-free in its accessibility, barrier-free play facilities are also provided.
A special concern of the developer is the preservation of as many of the existing trees as possible. This will be achieved by preserving over 50 trees and, in particular, by large tree transplants of a further 50 trees. From an ecological and design point of view, this means a big plus.
