The formerly fully asphalted schoolyard was divided into two sections, which were separated by a retaining wall.
The height difference between the two break yards was about 80 cm. The courtyards were asphalted, were also used in part as parking areas and had little play value.

The schoolyard was reorganized and upgraded in its entirety.
The separating retaining wall was eliminated in favor of an open solution with seating and terrain steps.

Fixed play equipment was deliberately omitted to allow space for free play.
Floor games were developed to stimulate the imagination of the children to become playfully creative themselves. For this purpose, form and material contrasts are used.
Through inclined levels and different play levels, each break and garden area is accessible without steps.
The existing slight terrain jumps or height differences to the school and the adjacent football field are intercepted by seat walls and light terrain modeling. A larger terrain jump will be leveled by a retaining wall with a play feature (boulder wall).

Separations by fences were deliberately not provided.
In addition, green areas with flowering shrubs and low-maintenance, flowering perennials divide the school area and create a boundary to the public path area.
