The Mühleninsel is an Isar island in Landshut in the historic core of the city.
A fish ladder connects the small and large Isar and helps the fish to overcome the height difference of about four meters. For this purpose, the mill island had to be crossed by a fish channel and this had to be integrated carefully into the cityscape.
The channel was shaped as a watercourse and integrated into the overall concept as a design element.
Complemented by varied planting and atmospheric lighting, the mill island was strengthened as a civic garden in close proximity to the historic old town.
