With the construction of the "Glass House", our office has redesigned Herford's largest inner-city square. We removed the original lowering of the "Alter Markt" to allow barrier-free crossing in all directions. To emphasise the importance of the square, we replaced the concrete block paving with high-quality natural stone. The square now offers generous areas for outdoor catering and events. Nevertheless, the requirements of public transport, which uses the square as a central transfer station, are not compromised.
