Redesign of an integrative kindergarten

OUTPUT SITUATION

The kindergarten is a two-storey new building for a 4-group facility. As an integrative kindergarten, children with and without impairments should be able to play here together.
The building is located in the northern part of the area and opens to the south with an arcade. An emergency slide and a rescue staircase also lead from the upper floor to the open spaces.

DESIGN

The design is divided into two areas. The entrance area to the west serves many functions. Parking for minibuses and a refuse area have been arranged so that the small forecourt still fulfils its prestigious function. Hedges and a planting of shrubs, perennials and bulbous plants support this. The design picks up on the formal language of the building.
The play area runs in an L-shape around the building. Paved areas and plantings divide the play area into small spaces designed for different uses. This creates a quiet U3 area with an orchard as well as a large lively area with a playground, water mud area and climbing facilities. A scooter path connects all play areas. A bamboo and hazel grove will encourage free play.
