The new Klett-Haus building in Augustenstraße was constructed on an area previously used as a car park. The parking spaces thus eliminated were organised in a multi-storey underground car park.

Section 1 - New Klett House
The open space enables a coherent, spacious garden with a high quality of stay through the complete intensive greening of the underground car park. With open space planning elements such as retaining walls, open staircase and footbridge, an entire storey height is overcome in a subtle manner. A grating footbridge spanning the garden hovers above the vegetation areas and provides access to the staircase of the new building. The planting allows highlights to be experienced at any time of year.

Section 2 - Klett Passage
The previously 75% sealed areas were completely unsealed by deconstructing the paved areas. The fully underbuilt areas have been made available to staff for recreation through the creation of (roof) landscaped areas. Contrasting perennial plantings are supported in their colour effect by the creation of a continuous and monochrome hedge element made of yew. An alternation of paved areas - dwelling zones - and large-format concrete paving slabs (pathways) structure the introverted inner courtyard.

3. section - redevelopment entrance Rotebühlstraße
The pavement areas in need of redevelopment receive a design overhaul as a final measure of the Klett area, in the design canon of the 1st section - an alternation between asphalt surfaces and paving inlays, structured with individual planting areas. The main entrance will be given a central design. Rearrangement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic and access control allows for a consistent and clear design.

4. section - Rotebühlstraße 76
In the existing building, a new canteen is integrated. The grey, underbuilt factory courtyards become green inner courtyards. Ramps and stairs create access to the canteen. A large wooden deck forms the outdoor terrace of the canteen.
