Konrad Zuse Square Böblingen Entrance to the Flugfeld site Böblingen-Sindelfingen

The Konrad-Zuse-Platz is the entrance to the Flugfeld area and at the same time represents an important transfer function from individual traffic to public transport.

The Konrad-Zuse-Platz accommodates a bus stop, taxi stands, short-term parking kiss-on-ride spaces and many bicycle stands. A stylized wing serves as the central metaphor 'airfield'. The canopy creates a distinctive sign that is visible from afar. It extends the station underpass and protects arriving passers-by from the weather. The translucent covering of the tubular steel construction with a plastic membrane allows a physical illumination of the canopy and at the same time provides the necessary basic lighting of the apron.

Along the railway tracks, the topographically necessary and urbanistically striking retaining wall accommodates a total of 40 bicycle parking spaces. A glass roofing provides the necessary weather protection. A discreetly arranged and indirect lighting of the roofing also stylizes the wall into a luminous body.
