The market Ergolding developed as a street village originally on the old high or Roman road.
The Lindenstraße as the main street, which connects the town hall with the two churches of St. Peter and the parish church of Mary Visitation, has been overtaken in recent decades by the rapid development of the village.
As a result of a town hall extension and the expansion of Lindenstrasse, a reorganisation of the town hall forecourt was also necessary in order to reactivate it as a town centre.
The resulting square with generous seating, flowering mixed perennial plantings - which form a buffer to the street - and a water feature ensures a quality of stay in front of the town hall and thereby strengthens the original town centre.
Through a connecting pavement concept, the old and new buildings are also connected in the open space to form an ensemble.
