Charles-Lindbergh-Platz Böblingen Böblingen-Sindelfingen airfield

The Charles-Lindbergh-Platz forms the urban prelude for the airfield. The listed existing buildings and their structural additions result in a triangular square layout.

The former circular driveway of the historic Tower building from the late 1920s is the basis of the design approach. The square is divided by generous green spaces, which take up the radiating geometry of the development axes. The green spaces are bordered on three sides by loose, linear rows of trees.

From an urban climatic point of view, attention was paid to a balanced relationship between green spaces with a high climatic effect and the traffic areas required for development.
