The Nuremberg South Clinic, which was opened in 1994, is being expanded by the construction of a new parent-child center with around 1.34 hectares of usable space and a new building for the service yard. The roofs of the new buildings will be extensively greened as far as possible.

The new parent-child centre will have its main entrance around 4 m above the existing site to ensure a level connection to the existing buildings. The new forecourt with its own drop-off zone will be accessible via ramps, stairs and walls. From the emerging lounge areas one can get an overview of the park and the new playground. Various seating areas, some under shady groups of trees, invite visitors to linger and serve as a contact zone. Rosenberger Strasse, which is located to the south of the new buildings and will serve as the future access road for patients and emergencies, will be relocated, raised and supplemented by the logistics areas for the service yard. This courtyard, in which the functions of supply and disposal meet in a structured manner, will be completely roofed over and will have an extensive green roof.

The inner courtyards, which cannot be accessed, will be extensively landscaped individually and will have a tranquil appearance. Only the north-east courtyard of the new building, assigned to the therapy area of child and adolescent psychosomatics, is accessible. There, a circular, sunken square with seating and a protective pergola offers the possibility for outdoor learning or therapy sessions.
