Like many other highly urbanized areas, Dortmund's city center is characterized by dense development structures with a high degree of sealing, which leads to the formation of an urban heat island. Particularly in city districts that are classified as inner-city climatopes, there is a need for comprehensive action to reduce the heat load. For this reason, a greening concept with concrete measures is to be developed for the City im Wall and Wallring. The aim of the project is to reduce the future increasing heat pollution in the Dortmund city center and to increase the quality of stay by significantly increasing the amount of green space in the city center area and along the Wall.
- Creation of a microclimatic simulation of the existing
- Evaluation of the climarelvanz of green spaces in the project area
- Location of climate-appropriate greening potential
- Climatic simulations for plan scenarios
- Review and evaluation of the climate relevance of the measures based on a comparison with the existing situation
- Derived from the simulation calculations, framework conditions and an implementation strategy are formulated, fields of action are named and action profiles are developed.
