Discovery park Universum Bremen

The structural expansion of Universum Bremen with a pavilion-like new building and the additional exhibition area in the outdoor space - Entdeckerpark - was carried out according to the planning concept of ARGE Haslob, Kruse Partner Architekten and planungsgruppe grün.

The new construction of the "show box" in the form of "stacked" exhibition and administration architecture provides the largest possible open spaces for the discovery park with its "course" for a total of 27 exhibits and landscape elements as well as the new entrance area.
The central forecourt with forum sets an urban accent and forms a generous publicly accessible entrance for the three museum areas of the universe: Science Center, the show box and the discovery park.
The park with its landscaped design is separated from the public area by a water axis. The central design element of the discovery park is the stone mound around which the exhibits and experience areas are grouped. As a striking structure, the tower of the air sets a further exclamation mark in the park.
Because of its uniqueness, the new discovery park as an open-air phenomenon museum is used to a large extent by school classes, kindergartens and other educational institutions, but also by many families and accepted with great enthusiasm.
